Usually after church has begun and everyone is in their seats, there's this guy who comes along slowly down the aisle smiling one of the biggest smiles I believe I've ever seen. He clutches his Bible in one hand and with the other he waves at certain folks in the congregation. Sometimes, he'll stop and give someone a high-five, sometimes he jabs the air pointing with excitement at another person, and most of the time, he winks and flirts with the ladies. Always, his grand gestures makes me smile. To me, it looks like he is loving life regardless that Downs Syndrome has lessened his body and arrested his mental capacity. He's happy. And the joy he has, he can't help but to share it with others.
The other day I read a quote that goes like this: "How you spend your days is how you spend your life."
Today as you go about your life, high-five someone. Discover something new that makes you point at it as if you are seeing it for the very first time; And, wink and flirt with the one you love.
