Portland is a city of strange contradictions and a series of unraveling stories. There are people who smoke cigarettes while riding bikes and homeless, hungry folk camped out less than 50 feet from every type of food imaginable.
There's eclectic beauty in old buildings made new by young professionals and old folks who wear diamond brooches beneath $5 rain ponchos while sitting in their Mercedes at one of the endless one-way street intersections in downtown. Fancy and the flighty around almost every corner, and yet in the weirdest of ways, this city of mountains, ocean, forest, and stone some how comes together in the most surreal way.
I'm glad I was able to spend time here and I'm looking forward to returning again one day.
